Nacional Financiera (Nafinsa)

Founded in 1934, Nafinsa is the leading development bank in Mexico. It is owned by the Mexican government and is based in Mexico City. Nafinsa provides financial services to generate SMEs and stimulates the growth of financial markets. Nafinsa’s National Microenterprise Financing Program was established in 2005.  In 2014, National Microenterprise Financing Program provided services to 97,000 people. Nafinsa’s Supporting Women Microentrepreneurs Program provides microcredit to women entrepreneurs with the aim of increased economic participation and improved quality of life. The credit of up to 40,000 pesos (US$2,600) is offered to individuals or by group and can be used to purchase products, tools, raw materials, or other materials. The program targets women in trade, services, or products. The microcredit is offered in the following states: Aguascalientes, Campeche, Chiapas, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Michoacan, Morelos, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Puebla, Queretaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosi, Sonora, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatan, and Zacatecas.
